"I gave up banking in 2004 to devote my time to my real passion, painting. I'm a self-taught painter and I fulfilled my dream by opening a gallery in Laon. India ink, pastels, water colours, I like to paint Picardy in all its forms: the monuments, the landscapes and the people. I love the way that the landscapes can be so fundamentally different, and how everything seems to be just as it should be: the bright red bricks used in our fortified churches goes so well with the bocage in Thiérache, just as the Château de Pierrefonds wouldn't be half as charming if it wasn't set in the vast Forêt de Compiègne. While Picard landscapes are constantly changing, they have one point in common, which is the sense of calm and serenity that I like to convey to people through my pictures. I especially like to take my easel outside, along the port in Le Crotoy or facing the Château de Pierrefonds, or on the square outside Amiens Cathedral, and let the passers-by see what I'm doing. I thrive on these exchanges, I learn as much from them as they learn from me. To pass on my passion for painting, I regularly organise workshops, especially for people with disabilities or the elderly. I enjoy imparting some of my knowledge, it's a great to bring joy to others.”
