THE MUSEE VIVANT DE L'ABEILLE
"At the Musée Vivant de l’Abeille, our aim is introduce people to the world of bees and honey in an entertaining way. I have different hats on at the same time, I'm a bee-keeper, farmer, artist and guide. We produce different kinds of honey: colza, acacia, lime tree. Thanks to our huge forests, packed with lime trees, lime tree honey is the Picard honey par excellence! We're in the middle of a collective process to obtain a label, a mark of recognition, a geographic appellation or, in the best-case scenario, an AOC for lime tree honey. We also product honey, wax, royal jelly, gingerbread, mead and, soon, we're going to be manufacturing honey vinegar. We started making honey lemonade in 2003, which children love. Contact with our visitors is very important to us here. We don't give lessons in natural sciences, but we take children, and adults, on a tour of discovery of our trade, we have fun and we try to inspire them, quite simply!"
