“Built in 1775, the farm has belonged to our family for a century. I feel affected by this building; these walls, 50 to 60 centimetres thick, all brickwork, summon up respect. I am a farmer by trade and nature guide by inclination. I love showing people my Picardy. One day, my wife and I stood dumbstruck at the sight of umpteen storks who were resting on a lake. I love telling people about how that felt. It was majestic. We experience plenty of moments like that in Marquenterre, where I guide walkers during the Bird festival.”
