“My land is located on the edges of Chantilly forest, close to the abbeys and castles and within the Oise - Pays de France Regional Nature Reserve, in magnificent natural surroundings. Working in close collaboration with the Nature Reserve was for me an obvious choice. I wanted to promote and explain my working methods and show that farmers are capable of doing beautiful things. I build small barns in wood cladding, I conceal my fences under living hedges...
I’m the only farmer in the village. My efforts to protect the countryside are a way of communicating with people from here and visitors. I conduct these alongside farming activities that I want to be well thought-out. I believe it’s a complete package, a comprehensive way of respecting nature, land, the countryside, heritage and therefore the people that live around my farm. I’m trying to demonstrate that Picardie can be a tourist area and proud of its heritage while at the same time producing effective and intelligent farming.”
