PARC DU MARQUENTERRE
Destination : Picardy Coast - Bay of Somme
The park is of international renown: in all seasons, thousands of migratory birds stop off in this peaceful haven to rest and feed...
“I developed my passion for nature and, in particular, birds, when I was a child. My father taught me how to look: to observe the life around us, a deer on the move, a bird singing, a plant not seen before. What I most enjoy about my job is learning how life evolves over time and to share my knowledge of the area with others. The amazing strength of birds, their ability to survive and to fly 5,000km in 72 hours without stopping, never ceases to amaze me...” Philippe Carruette, ornithologist
Sand sailing in the wide, open spaces of Picardy...
At low tide, in the department of la Manche, enjoy the great expanses of sandy beaches, at Fort-Mahon and Quend, a veritable paradise for keen sand sailors. An ecological way to discover the Picardy coast…a sport everyone can enjoy: Novices seeking fresh air and a new experience, or experienced sandyachtsmen in search of freedom and excitement. Let Christophe Klepmann, instructor with a passion, teach you how to sail the sands in a three-wheeled sandyacht. After just 1 hour, to learn the basics of sandyachting, you will then be free to take your sandyacht on a 2-hour trip across the Picardy sands.
