Les chambres d’hôtes (Guesthouses)

Since 2004, Charmance has been the Gîtes de France label for guesthouses. ‘Chambres d’hôtes’ or guesthouse rooms give tourists the opportunity to experience an ‘among friends’ stay with private individuals who open their homes to guests for one or several nights.

Guesthouses also have an ears-of-corn rating:

1 ear: Simple rooms with access to communal bathrooms.

2 ears: Rooms with a good level of comfort and a minimum of a private shower-room or bathroom.

3 ears: Rooms with a superior level of comfort and full private bathrooms (showers or baths, sink and WC).

4 ears: Rooms with an exceptional level of comfort and full private bathrooms. These are housed in character residences set in exceptional surroundings. Additional services are often available.

Guesthouse room prices always include breakfast and vary depending on the number of people staying.
‘La Table d’Hôtes’ (‘Resident Meals’) enable guests to share a family or gastronomic meal, as applicable.
Meal prices are all-inclusive (starter, main course, cheese and/or dessert, coffee and, if applicable, drinks). The ‘Tables d’Hôtes’ service is only available to those persons staying in rooms.
