Villes d’Art et d’Histoire (Towns of Art and History)

The ‘Pays d'Art et d'Histoire’and ‘Villes d'Art et d'Histoire’ label was created in 1985 at the proposal of the Ministry of Culture and Communication. At a national level, it comprises 130 towns and regions of art and history committed to highlighting and promoting heritage and architecture, including advertising their discovery activities (guided tours, exhibitions, educational services), cultural tourism, etc.
