Picardy strives to be accessible to everyone
Unrestricted access to holidays and leisure activities is a fundamental element of social integration and personal development for those affected by a disability or handicap.
Anyone who is permanently or temporarily disabled should have the freedom to access tourist activities, services and sites completely independently.
With this objective in mind, the Ministry of Tourism has created the "Tourisme et Handicap" label.
Guaranteeing adapted facilities and an accessible environment, the "Tourisme et Handicap" label caters for those with special needs who want to get the most out of their holiday while remaining fully independent.
The label can be awarded for one, two, three or four disabilities (auditory, mental, physical and visual), each of which have their own signs. It is awarded for a maximum period of five years and can be renewed following an assessment to ensure that reception and accessibility criteria continue to be met.
